Precinct Chair Filing Deadline Jan 4th

In continuing our mission to increase voter awareness and participation in the process, HTPS reminds you that if you live in a precinct that has no precinct chair, there is still time to file for the position.  Completed NOTARIZED applications must be received in the parties’ offices by January 4th.

To find your precinct, visit the Tax Assessor’s website and search using your address.

To find out if your precinct is vacant, visit the Harris County Republican party site or the Harris County Democratic party site.  The HCRP is updating filings as they come in, so check here to see whether someone is running in 2010 for your precinct.

If you aren’t sure you would like to take on the responsibility of becoming a precinct chair, but do want to become more active in your precinct, send us an e-mail with your precinct number at precincts@houstontps.org and we will help you start a neighborhood group in your area and connect you to others in the precincts around you.  HTPS neighborhood group training begins in January, as does the training for Convention 101 to help demystify the convention process for the primaries.  There are plenty of ways to get involved and become more active so that we can impact the elections in 2010.  Join us and let’s get busy!
