By Felicia Cravens

UPDATE:  Natalie Arceneaux of The Civil Right will air Convention 101 on her show on Feb 13th at 12:30 pm on KNTH AM 1070.  The show streams HERE if you can’t get the radio station in your area.  We are uploading PDF files of the materials in time for listeners to print out the materials and follow along on the radio.

A Web Seminar is also being scheduled live for Wednesday February 10th 17th, which will be saved so that people can revisit the presentation at their own pace.  Details and time to follow!

Political conventions aren’t just for the “party elite.”  They are for everyone who wants to become more involved in shaping the direction of the party.  If you’ve never attended a convention because you didn’t know what happened or what to do, Houston Tea Party Society takes the mystery out of the process.

We’ll cover:

                Why Go To Convention

                Precinct Convention

                Senate District Convention

                Strategies

                Committees and Volunteer Opportunities

                Parliamentary Procedure

Join us and learn how you can affect the platform, choose the leadership, and make conventions a meaningful part of your activism!

Is it possible that you can give more detail info on address – other than just “Spring Creek BBQ Hwy 6″? Would love to attend.

Problem! Session at Casa Grande on February 8 is same night as CD 18 Candidates Forum by Woodland Heighs Civic Association, across the freeway, about 200 yards from Casa Grande. All 6 have been invited. So far, only Faulk and Sean Roberts have accepted. Brenda Page has a previous engagement. No word from Tex, SJL or Jarvis Johnson. WHCA president says she will keep SJL to 10 minutes, which will be worth a trip just to see that. Wouldn’t surprise me if she declines because she has to stay in Washington “to do the people’s business.” It’s a school night.

    Felicia,

Is there a way to schedule one down here in Galveston County or at least in the Clear Lake area. I’m in several groups in and around Bolivar and we need to get more venues open to us so that we don’t have to make the long trek north…..Please let me know as I would be willing to help make it happen. We need to make it happen soon.

Laurel, sorry I just saw your post. There are some weekday nights open still in February. If you want to set a session up in Galveston County or near there, e-mail info@houstontps.org and we can work out a time that fits. I apologize, but weekends got snapped up pretty quickly.
