The Harris County Clerk’s office hasn’t released the official ballot for Harris County yet, but we’ve put together one anyway.  David Jennings at http://www.bigjolly.com kindly turned our work into a downloadable file.

Download the ballot at the bottom of this post:

You can take the sample ballot with you to the League of Women Voters’ Candidate Meet & Greet Saturday, September 18th – wear your tea party shirt!

                 Date:     Saturday, Sept 18

                Time:     3:00 p.m.

Place:    George R Brown Convention Center 3rd Floor Ballroom

Don’t Forget the Ballot Propositions

This November, make sure you go ALL THE WAY DOWN THE BALLOT when you vote, because there are issues that you might miss with a straight-ticket vote.  The City of Houston has three propositions on the city ballot:

Renew Houston – creating a city-wide management district for Houston  (HTPS recommends a vote against Renew Houston)

                http://www.theproblemwithprop1.com/

Red Light Cameras – learn more about removing red light cameras in Houston (HTPS recommends voting to remove them)

                http://www.nocamerashouston.com/

Redistricting Residency Filing Requirements – Proposition to shorten residency requirements for candidates filing for office due to redistricting in 2011

There are also bond issues, school board elections and other issues on the bottom of your ballot.  No matter WHERE you live, make sure you go ALL THE WAY DOWN the ballot and check out all the issues!
