And answering her through our twitter http://twitter.com/HoustonTeaParty
I did not know who this woman was until I googled her… apparently the writer of the “progressive” blog Firedoglake and she produced the film “Double Dragon”.
She’s implying because freedomworks listed the Texas Tea parties and Dick Armey is part of freedomworks that the Tea Parties, Houston in particular, are being organized by “Corporate lobbyists”. Houston Tea Party has never spoken with Freedomworks or Dick Armey, though we do know that Freedomworks has offered legal advice to different Tea parties, we’ve not sought it. None of that should imply they are running the show unless you go to the point of just making stuff up.
The “Corporate lobbyist” line is a laugh. Felicia is a local Mother of two who worked with some local grassroots groups like Raging Elephants. I was someone who was trying to be apolitical the past 4 years until I took a good look at was going on, and I was laid off last week and currently unemployed. There are other organizers and volunteers with us. None of them come close to the description “Corporate Lobbyist”.
And no, this woman is nuts, Fox News is not organizing the Tea Parties, they’re just jumping on board (like a lot of people are trying to). But she’s seeing Dick Armey and Fox News as the boogeymen in the closet…
So… I’ve had my LMAO moment for the day. How about you?
Edit: More on this silliness: http://littlemissattila.com/?p=7362
If we’re being organized by “corporate lobbyists” then where the heck is my check?
We’re coining the term “Tea Party Truthers” to designate these people who try making these ridiculous connections that don’t correspond to reality. Just another campaign by our detractors to discredit us, and a pretty lousy one at that!

[...] The organizers of Tea Party Protests weigh in. I myeslf would like to join Wendy (and Jane H. herself, of course) in asking, “where the hell [...]
Yeah, as I forego paying bills this week until we’re sure we’ll cover expenses, I’m starting to wonder where my check is as well.
Never treat leftists as though they are fair, sane people. They are not. Never honor them by calling them ‘liberals’ either. They are NOT liberal. They are illiberal, intolerant, rigid, and racist.
Now, as to why the Tea Party gatherings have so much higher attendance than the lefty gatherings, this hilarious picture reveals why. This should be sent to any leftist that you know. It makes them indignant enough to sputter in outrage.
Some of those who are pushing the “parties” include Beltway hacks like Norquist and Armey, and another group promoting them is a Kochtopus-linked group (AFP). In fact, just a few days ago Insty chatted with a tea party “facilitator” from that group (pajamasmedia.com/instapundit/75986).
If the word “Kochtopus” doesn’t mean anything, do a search. As for not receiving a check, why do you think they call them “useful idiots”?
^ Oh brother, get of load of that comment!
The Left really is so supported and funded by people like Soros they expect everyone else is too. Get a life!
“The Left really is so supported and funded by people like Soros they expect everyone else is too. Get a life!”
EVERYTHING about the left is about projecting their own vices onto others.
They say Republicans are racist, when it is the left that is.
They say ‘wingnuts’ are evil and bloodthirsty, when it is the left that has a sincere desire to send Republicans and devout Christians to the gas chambers.
EVERYTHING about them is projection. When you realize this, the consistent pattern of their actions becomes evident.
They’re just so used to “community organizers” being paid stooges that they forget that REAL “community organizers” are, well, members of the community who organize.
Let’s remind them what it looks like when the community is really mobilized.
I did not know who this woman was until I googled her… apparently the writer of the “progressive” blog Firedoglake and she produced the film “Double Dragon”.
She’s known loosing the Connecticut Senate race and racist photoshopping.
I made a sign using the now-infamous “bacon” budget plot . I added a pitchfork and “PITCHFORK THE PORK” to keep it short and snappy.
I am by no means a “Corporate Lobbyist”, “Rethuglican”, or “Astroturfer”. I’m just a rocket engineer working for a small company in Mojave, a small-l libertarian, and I plan to attend the tes Party in Bakersfield on April 15- with my signs and my girlfriend, a fairly apolitical dentist.
This really IS a grass-roots movement.
By the way, I openly use my own name for political commentary, which seems to be rare on the web. This makes me careful to be polite and non-inflammatory most of the time… except perhaps for that flamewar on alt.comedy.standup about the humorous possibilities of cancer back in ’96.
Url got trimmed out above- trying again:

“This really IS a grass-roots movement.”
Yes, but it is too little, too late.
Blacks vote 90-96% Democrat. Hispanics vote 70% Democrat. Single women vote 70% Democrat, and are growing in proportion to married women.
It is finished. A permanent left-wing government is guaranteed.
If 45% of Americans still believe in small government and free markets, that isn’t enough to stave off socialism when large groups are voting overwhelmingly for Democrats.
According to Jane Hamsher’s IMDb entry, she played the role of “Female Demon” in Natural Born Killers.
Mere coincidence?

You might want to look into how the Soviets used “useful idiots” in the U.S. I’m not comparing the Kochtopus et al to the Soviets and what they’re doing with the protests isn’t completely analogous to what the Soviets did. But, learning what a useful idiot is might be helpful.
There are some effective tips regarding activism at my name’s link. All of them use leverage and are much more intelligent than standing on a street corner.
Heh,
Nice introduction to the hare brained Ms. Hamsher.
Hamsher and logic are two forms that briefly brush in the night, wondering what the other one actually was.
She’s been supplying completely unintentional hilarity to the internet for several years now. Some on the left even take her “seriously”. Some on the right have almost made complete facets of their cyber existence all about mocking and hooting at her low-effort mental mishaps and foibles.
And what’s really cool about it? If you sneak up on her, you can actually get her to sound almost rational – which makes the ker-pop even funnier when one of her hot button topics comes up. . .
WTF is a ‘FireDogLake’ anyway?
“Americans for Prosperity” – pure astroturf:
http://www.talkingpointsmemo.com/archives/151103.php
Americans for Prosperity is the political arm of Koch Industries (i.e., a front) which the Koch family uses to aid conservative causes in general and stuff the Bush White House wants done in particular. (Koch Industries is a big oil, chemical and mining mega-corporation.) Folks seem to go from Koch Industries Washington lobby shop to Americans for Prosperity or back and forth from the White House on a pretty regular basis. And when you look even closer you’ll see that they’re all also tied in with Citizens for a Sound Economy, another spawn of the Koch family, which was essentially the predecessor of AforP.
Take Wayne Gable, for instance. He is a member of the board of directors of Americans for Prosperity. He’s currently the managing director of Federal Affairs — i.e., the lobby shop — of Koch Industries, Inc.
Before that he was president of Citizens for a Sound Economy.
Nancy Mitchell Pfotenhauer is now the president of Americans for Prosperity. Before that she was the head of the lobby shop for Koch Industries. Before that she was executive vice president or Citizens for a Sound Economy.
Running AforP today must not take too much time because she’s also president of the Independent Women’s Forum. But it probably helps that both organizations are run out of the same office.
Look into the inner-workings of Citizens for a Sound Economy, Americans for Prosperity, the Independent Women’s Forum and you’ll see it’s pretty hard to see where one group starts and another stops. They just all seem to lead back to Koch Industries, run by the Koch brothers.
(Bonus Koch Trivia: The father of the Koch borthers, Fred Koch, was a founder of the John Birch Society.)
^^ Commenter above apparently reads playboy for the articles. Bet this person is a real “Corporate Lobbyist” too!
Innuendo… farcical connections… tea party Truther!
what happened to the local and national sponsers on that big fade to black line to the right of this text
AforP was right there on the top for all to see
OMG!!! Link to AFP!!! CONSPIRACY!!!
Grow up guys! They’ve given no funding or help in organizing. We’ve only talked to them in terms of providing speakers and such. Get a life!
When is a sponsor not a sponsor? When the sponsoree(?) is an astro-turf, er, pardon, grassroots movement like the Nationwide Tax Day
Tea Party(tm)!
“Sponsor” doesn’t mean that they give us funding and actually organize the events. It can simply mean they simply broadcast the event details to their memebers and mailing lists.
Don’t hold back on security. I’ve heard that the libbos are hiring some union goons (dock workers) to come in an mess with us. And watch for last minute location changes – they might be fakes.
Wow, sure enough, it’s a Tea Party Truther. So you’re friends with the “astroturf” foundation. Do you also talk to Bigfoot?
You people are helping destroy this country and you actually don’t care. Have any of you even considered the possibility that maybe…just maybe you should re-read the book of Matthew 7:15-23? You fit it to a “T”.
You’d better hope God forgives you for acting like such lemmings, because so far as I’m concerned — you can all burn in hell for what you’re doing.
@Teh Sadly
But, don’t you know that there is a grass-roots movement, sponsored and promoted by News Corp.’s Fox News Channel, given tons of free air time, access to mailing lists by friendly organizations that just happen to be corporate lobbyists, that is organizing all of this? Jane said we were corporate lobbyists, but we’re not, we’re just their co-conspirators, if you will. We share the same thoughts and ideals, sort of like a Borg collective.
These are real Americans! Rupert Murdoch is the epitome of a real American! He should run for the GOP nomination, I wonder why no one’s ever thought of that. I bet he’d win.
I love how, given my history with the local GOP, that I’ve suddenly become their co-conspirators, even as they’re running away from me as fast as they can!
Troofy troofy troof.
Jane Hamsher is right. You are being played for the fools that you are.
Anyways. Happy teabagging against the Obama TAX CUTS.
And I hope you suck the last dime out of the wingnuts stupid enough to give you any money.
Tea, Earl Grey, Hot!

Jane’s sending out all her little minion trolls because she had her ass handed to her at her pathetic NWF “protest” of 8 code pinkos. Jane got served with a humiliation so immediately had to deflect that she has no star power .Liberal Jane Hamsher couldn’t get more than 3 people to come to a big protest in liberal DC on a Saturday?
HAHAHAHAHAHAH!

“Jane’s sending out all her little minion trolls because she had her ass handed to her”
Jane had her ass handed to her? Please. I’m not a fan of hers (I’ve got no problems with her either) but Jane seems to be doing quite well.
It is the GOP and the wingnuts who have had their asses handed to themselves. And they are not doing well. They are a powerless minority.
And that is what matters.
Moose pellet,
You are right, there should be no scrimping on security. I have it on good authority that the Soros funded lefties are planning to infiltrate us, including dock workers, and nursing unions. I hear they paln to try and cause trouble to us teabaggers & erect mis-spelled signs to fool us. Dont believe their lies…
heartland….
Uh huh. Jane’s protest went about as well as Ned Lamont’s senate win.
You lies are pathetic. On the left side you deny corporate sponsorship. On the right side your sponsors list is a list of corpoarate sponsors.
Really guys, this is stupid even for right wingers.
They are not sponsors in the traditional sense, meaning they don’t provide us money, “they simply broadcast the event details to their members and mailing lists”.
Of course the rest of the thinking world consider this networking.
But hey, keep denying that sponsor means exactly what it means. Keep trotting out this lame excuse.
It simply confirms the general level of intelligence of your average tea bagger!
[...] Firedoglake writes “Corporate Lobbyists Raising Money For Tea Parties (rebutted by Houston TPS). [...]
I love how, given my history with the local GOP, that I’ve suddenly become their co-conspirators, even as they’re running away from me as fast as they can!
Really, Felicia?
The Harris County Republican Party is encouraging local conservatives to participate in the local protests. It recently sent out an e-mail blast to about 10,000 people, chairman Jared Woodfill said, adding that the movement has energized the local party.
“I think people are sick and tired,” Woodfill said. “Obama is taking the financial crisis and reshaping the country in the way he feels the best and turning it into something they don’t recognize. I think it’s the beginning of a large anti-tax movement.”
http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/headline/metro/6372257.html
I also love how you claim Rick Santelli as your inspiration in that article. Rick Santelli is a douchebag and an enabler of the rich Wall Street crooks who got us to where we are today?
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/john-amato/clueless-rick-santelli-do_b_168878.html
What you don’t understand is Felicia and I are pariahs in the local GOP after being part of a group that was trying to oust Jared Woodfill from his chairmanship.
Idiot!
Josh, what you don’t understand is that when even the local Houston winguts in the local GOP won’t have you, this makes you certifiably insane.
Douchebag!
Political ponds don’t get the cash. They are just there for the real guys running the show to hide behind or be cannon fodder. Sponsorship isn’t just cash, it can be a donation of goods or service. Pepsi or Coke can provide free drinks to an event and not pay a dime to organizers.
I see that idiot JHarp is commenting here. He is the number 1 troll of the internet. Patterico banned him and erased all his comments.
You list the New American TeaPary as a national sponsor of yours and it lists freedomworks as one of its sponsors. That’s not much of a leap.
Were did you find these informations?
Hi, nice post. I have been pondering this issue,so thanks for sharing. I’ll definitely be coming back to your posts.
