Pelosi Protest Details
Our Pelosi Protest will be starting at 6:30, Friday June 12th, in front of the Wortham center by Jones Plaza where we had our Tax Day event. She will be starting her event at 7:30.
The Theme of the Protest is “Pelocchio“.

This is an entirely peaceful protest. The best way to show displeasure is simply showing up in sheer numbers and having a resulting headline in the news. Please help keep a good reputation for Houston Activism. Now for the important serious stuff.
Signs cannot be on sticks and poles. This is a city rule, as they are something that could be used as a weapon. Please keep signs tasteful, no threats, racism… etc… be smart and clever! Please no sound amplification.
We cannot block traffic or pedestrians. Absolutely do not directly engage anyone. No harrassment, accosting, threats, or throwing anything at anyone. Don’t make anyone into a martyr.
We must be fluid and may need to move around. Organizers and Volunteers from ours and other local Tea Party organizations will be trying to help direct and keep order in the crowd.

Are we complaining about a specific lie she made? Or the whole schmear of them together? What should our signs say? Can we have the little flags again?

Rather than holding up signs outside like ACORN, the smarter thing to do is to find a smart trial lawyer or similar to engage her in debate about a topic or at least try to get in one good question. Her response can then be uploaded to Youtube where hundreds of thousands will see it (assuming the question is good enough).
It looks like questions for this event are pre-screened, but I’m sure there will be a chance to ask her a question when she’s signing books or the like.
And, rather than asking her a Galt-style question that only 0.1% of Americans would support, the smarter thing to do is to ask her a question like the one here:

I really really doubt she’d agree to a debate.
We did publish the information about buying tickets in case our members wanted to go inside and have a crack at the Speaker. However, as has been noted, the questions are well-screened at these events, and the likelihood of having a question read would be small.
The crowd that ought to show up will be a great image in itself, whether the Speaker is around or not. Flags and such are great, and flagpoles smaller than 1/2″ diameter are ok, so all the small and medium-sized flags are fine. I’d love to see a sea of them!
With the Speaker, there are so many opportunities for signs, it’s a free for all! We might see what we can do in terms of suggestions, but it’s more fun to see what others come up with.

Every day for the last month, I have called Pelosi’s D.C. office and said (politely): “LIAR LIAR PANTS ON FIRE”, then hung up. There are dozens of us doing it. Best way to make the call untraceable: call the general Congressional operator (202-225-3121), then ask to be transferred to the Speaker’s office.
Someone had a “Pelosi, Pirate of the Potomac” Sign at the 4/15 rally. It was awesome!
Had a picture of her with a bandana wrapped on her head, an eyepatch, and missing a few teeth. I’d love to see that again.
Are the questioners allowed toask the questions even if they are being pre-screened?
If they are just lie about your question and then put her on the spot if you get a chance at the mike.
Haven’t heard the details of the format – usually you don’t find out until you get there how they will handle it, at least in my experience. I could be wrong. We’ll see if we can find someone who knows.
Wouldn’t hurt to include John Murtha and “the most ethical Congress in History” on some signage!

I have completed a week of picketing MD US Senator Mikulski’s Annapolis office, our spend and tax senator. Our TEA Parties have not gotten the response from my or your delegations to congress so picketing the Speaker is needed too. I was hoping that my efforts locally would spark a country wide effort in this regard since I wrote every organization I could think of that might want to directly confront our politicians. I would hope that the tactics utilized by MLK would work today, since I do not want to see another 1786 type Shays’ Rebellion; but something needs to be done to impress upon our leadership that we mean business.
